Things to Know
The Bed and Breakfast (B&B) experience is one that re-creates a home-like stay while providing you with all the help you need to truly relax and enjoy the reason for your visit. Unlike a monolithic hotel room, that can look the same whether you are in Detroit or Madagascar, a typical B & B has been tastefully decorated with each room being different. Your host will provide you with a home-cooked breakfast each morning in the dining room. At the Fairville Inn, each morning begins with a selection of fruit juices, coffee or tea, a continental buffet of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, and Inn-baked goods. This is followed by a selection of three hot entrees, typically an omelet or frittata of the day; a pancake, waffle, or French toast; and (of course) scrambled eggs. And this is just the beginning of your day.
The Innkeepers of the Fairville Inn are knowledgeable about local activities and attractions. They can help you plan your day, including making reservations for special attractions, advising you on directions, times, and duration of tours. They can help you select a restaurant and make appropriate reservations, sometimes when you may not be successful at doing so! Then in late afternoon, enjoy an informal tea with a selection of cheeses, crackers, fruit, and Inn-baked goods.
Now, is that what you've come to expect at your local hotel?
Come to the Brandywine Valley and take advantage of everything there is for your enjoyment.

OUR RESERVATION & CANCELLATION POLICY:
We are a small business. Please understand that cancellations can affect us significantly. When a reservation is confirmed, the room(s) reserved cannot be booked by another guest, and the reservation is reflected on the "Availability" page of our website.
When you make a reservation, you agree to the following cancellation policy. You will recieve an e-mail confirmation of your reservation (or a written letter if requested) that re-states ourreservation and cancellation policy.
We generally require a 2-night minimum stay on weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) from April through December. Occasionally, a 1-night stay on a weekend may be possible.
A reservation is not considered confirmed until a deposit has been received. For a 1, 2, or 3-night stay, a deposit equal to a 1-night stay is required. For a longer stay, a deposit equal to one-half of the reserved nights is required, rounded down in the case of an odd number of nights. All deposits are credited to the last night(s) of the reservation.
If you cancel your reservation 10 or more days before the date of arrival, your deposit will be refunded in full, less a cancellation fee of $20 per room reserved.
If you cancel your reservation less than 10 days before the date of arrival, you are responsible for the entire amount of reserved time, except to the extent we are able to re-book the cancelled room(s).A reservation made 9 or fewer days before the date of arrival is considered a guaranteed reservation and you are responsible for the entire amount of reserved time except to the extent we are able to re-book your room(s). The only exceptions are if an airport you are traveling through is closed, service is suspended on a rail line you are traveling, or if law enforcement authorities along your driving route are recommending that travelers stay off the roads due to severe weather conditions. In these cases, we will charge your credit card for any balance due and provide you with a Fairville Inn gift certificate for the full amount of your reserved time that will be valid for one year. The Gift Certificate is transferrable.
If your reservation is for 3 or more rooms, for a holiday period, or during a local special event, the same cancellation policy applies, except that the cancellation period is 30 days. Holiday periods are February 12-16, Memorial Day Weekend (Friday - Monday), July 2-6, Labor Day Weekend (Friday - Monday), Thanksgiving week (Sunday - Saturday), and December 23 - January 2. Special Local events include Winterthur's Point-to-Point Weekend (usually early May), and the Kennett Square Mushroom Festival (usually mid-September).
In all cases, we will do everything that we can to re-book a cancelled room.
