Dining In The Fairville Inn serves delicious breakfasts and a tempting afternoon tea. We also offer a small but wonderful selection of after dinner desserts. For lunch and dinner, there are many fine restaurants within minutes of the Inn (please see the list of restaurants below).Breakfast. The Fairville Inn takes great pride in its breakfasts. Every morning there is a changing selection of three hot entrees - an omelet; pancakes, waffles, French toast, or a fruit-stuffed French toast soufflé; and scrambled eggs that are among the finest you will ever have. Many of our omelets feature vegetables grown at the Inn. All hot entrees are accompanied by bacon or our inn-smoked sausage (we like to use apple wood and/or mesquite). Omelets are often punctuated by a smoked tomato sauce made from tomatoes grown in our gardens, while pancakes, waffles and French toast may be accompanied by our strawberry-marsala wine sauce or a wild raspberry sauce made from berries grown at the Inn. Breakfast also includes a continental buffet featuring fresh fruit (with Inn-grown melon during the season), inn-baked breads and pastries, yogurt, and our custom cereal blend. Afternoon Tea. The Fairville Inn serves afternoon tea daily, featuring inn-baked breads, cookies, pastries, and sweets, accompanied by a selection of cheeses and crackers. There is a variety of traditional and herbal teas. Iced tea is also served except during the colder months. Dessert, Etc. The Inn also offers a small but delicious selection of after-dinner desserts that can be enjoyed in our dining room or in your room (think in front of your fireplace in the cooler months). Guest favorites include our chocolate truffle torte accompanied by a Key Lime caramel sauce and our fruit-stuffed crepes flambéed in dark rum (sorry, but we don't do in-room flambés!). If there is something else we can do for you (perhaps chocolate covered strawberries, a cheese and fruit platter, or wine or champagne), just let us know and we will work with you to make it happen.
Dining Out Although the Fairville does not serve lunch or dinner, there are many fine restaurants within a few minutes of the Inn. We encourage you to explore the following list as representative of the fine dining in the Brandywine Valley. The Inn maintains a book of menus from many of these restaurants (you can access up-to-date menus and other information directly from the list below). Advance reservations are highly recommended, particularly on weekend and holiday evenings. We would be pleased to discuss your dining needs and to assist you with reservations.
